 Burmese and Thai goods to be displayed on border

The Burma (Myanmar) and Thai border committee have joined hands and plan to display commodities from both countries in Three Pagoda Pass Town in the last week of this month.
Burma will show case oyster, cuttle-fish, utensils, pearl and specific fish from Tenaserrim Division, Mon State, and Pathein Township in Ayewaddy Division.
Thai traders will display machine parts, cosmetics, consumer and kitchen goods. Over 59 companies from Thailand will participate according to a member of the implementing committee.
On the Burma side, Myanmar Pearl and Fishery Corporation will lead the display and Zaykabar Company, Mya Yeik Nyo Company and OK Myanmar Company will join in.
The display is intended to foster goodwill between the two countries, according to the implementing committee.The display will take place between January 28 and February 5 and entertainment shows will also be arranged for visitors according to posters put up.
Local people hoping to buy Thai goods are saving money for the ensuing trade affair. The display will take place in Thai territory.
According to the implementing committee, this is the first time that a trade fair is being held in Three Pagoda Pass.
