Two Mon migrant women workers were raped by a gang pretending to be policemen in Krathum Baen town on the way to Mahachai and Bangkok forcing Thai authorities to bar people from going in and out of the construction site.
"Local authorities are not allowing any one to go into the construction site either to check or talk," Ko Thant Zaw Oo from the Federation of Trade Union- Burma, who visited the site, said.
Local Thai authorities are monitoring the case closely, after migrant workers complained to the local police.
The two gang men pretended to be police personnel. They checked the construction site living rooms and seized more than 40,000 Baht and 19 mobile phones from 20 migrant workers.
After which the gang took two women workers from the site in a car and raped them. The women were left on a small road in the area.
The gang has been pretending to be police personnel and committing such crimes for a long time, a Thai Ch7 TV report said.
In Mahachai thousands of Mon migrant workers from Burma seek jobs and many of them are regularly looted by gangs.
