we are all have different point of view when it was coming to political issue. by the chance we all need for good and success. any how, my point of view, NMSP have given the answer already.Because, NMSP have rejected the Junta National Convention in the past. my totally stranger view was, why should NMSP have to reconsider for (junta) election?

The new election to be held by the current military government (SPDC) is a time buying again and again to manipulate the public and international community, especially the USA, EU and UN's opinion on Burma. If a political organization like the New Mon State Party is allowed to contest in the election with its armed force, the Mon Natinal Liberation Army, what role could the popular political party formed in 1988, the Mon National Democratic Front is played while the SPDC banned all social and political activities in the country including the National League for Democracy. Contesting an election is not a solution for Burma regardless of small or large both armed and political organizations unlss the SPDC fomred a "care taker government" with elected representative from the General Election in 1990. The first step what the NMSP and other like the KNU, KNPP and KIO should be doing is that they (all leaders) have to openly discuss with all people in their States in what form of representation that the local population is seeking form them. There are now 17-20 armed organizations both with and without cease-fire talk with the SPDC, whether these organizations and leaders are represented for the entire local population is a critical question.
The second step is that the NMSP and the MNLA openly and publically offer a seond opportunity for urban based non-armed political party either an old force like the MNDF or a new force with a new blood on baord to be contest in a new election with a full back up the NMSP.
The NMSP and its amred force, the MNLA will be undertaking a crucial role in defence and military institution when the Mon State is officially declared and Burma is fully transformed to a democratic nation.
The NMSP could reamin as a strong and powerful armed and poltical force for the Mon people until the social, cultural and polical rights are granted to the Mon people in the next 10-20 years.
In brief, the NMSP shoud not contest on a new election but support to urban based the Mon political force to engage in any political campaigns along with popular students and other forces if there is the only best option to be choosen for proteting human rights and democracy in Mon State.
The MNLA has a major task to protect for the safety and security of the local population (all people not only the Mon)attacked by the Government troops in amred conflcit whereas always targted to innocent women and children.
The new election is a new policy to terminate the role of the NMSP and MNLA for its historical accounted movement as a new powrful force to rebuild the Mon Nation that was destroyed in just 250 years ago in May 2007.
The NMSP and MNLA have a golden opportunity to rebuild the unity and strength of the entire Mon people both home and abraod with a new vision and mission but a fresh leadership style of openness and courage.
The entire Mon population will be electing the NMSP leaders and its members to rule the new Mon nation when the time is allowed and a new nation is rebuilt by all efforts.

SPDC NC is trying for SPDC to take legel power to control the country again.

NMSP should not think about Joining New Election under the junta
Regarding the question that if NMSP should join the junta election which called an outer skin of political stage in attempting to trick nationalities in a way of re-modeling dictatorship's cover, I strongly and firmly disagree any involvement of Burman junta election. There is no doubt that the new election intends to create a conflict between 1990 election winners and the incoming new election winners. There is no doubt that the Burman dictators are trying to put democracy cover into their faces.
As we all known so far, the result of 1960 election has driven our leaders to jail while the result of 1990 again put nationalities’ leaders in the same situation. After 1960 election, Burman army led by Ne Win and before 1990 election led by Saw Maung seized the state power. Two times of election winners were refused to exercise their mandate power given by the people. These functions and machinery are so clear that the Burman leaders have no intention to drive the country to democratic system. Hold the election, arrest the winners and turn power to the army. That is.
If we talk about the NMSP political ultimate goals, NMSP has different goals from time to time in accordance with the flow of politics. Sometime, the ultimate goal was to achieve Monland Sovereignty, then to achieve Mon self-determination right under the genuine federal union, then to achieve Mon National Democratic Republic. At last, NMSP is demanding for tripartite dialogue to solve political problem by political mean, but there is no clear political goal what NMSP wants as a result of dialogue.
NMSP has denounced the draft of constitution stage called National Convention. NMSP did not join the convention to draft the constitution as unrecognizing to denying. But, NMSP is thinking about participation of the incoming election again which will be held under the circumstance of 7 steps road map set by the Burman leaders.
Moreover, to have a right of participation the election contest, all armed parties must be disarmed first, and unlawful parties will not have the right to join the election under the election rules of the world. NMSP is an unlawful party announced by the junta long time ago. If so, NMSP will have to disarm to join the election. Unlike the clever Burman Army, the Burman Army clearly announced that they will take the seats 25% without participation in the election. The Burman Army knows that an army cannot join the election.
Therefore, NMSP should not think to join the election in anyway of believing to have more political voice through the seats while the political voice of the common people inside the country are increasing pressure to the junta and the winners of 1990 election are firmly standing and demanding the result of the 1990 election. The belief of having more political voice through the seats is no way possible under the military regime. NMSP should not be the victims by missing the second chance of political transition through the grass roots. The transition is so near to goal now. As a result, the junta is finding an exit. NMSP should not become as one of the door openers for extension the period of military rule in Burma.

I strong reject, why MNSP should involve junta... No name
On Earth
I simply have no trust on SPDC. WHY? I don't think SPDC is trust worthy for any reason. I think we need a judge who is not under control of SPDC for NMSP to involve in election. If not, let just say "BYE BYE" to Junta. ...

Dear IMNA,
I would like to give my' opinion. I think, Mon people should not involve in the Junta' election, because no people recognized them ( inside and outside people and international community. If the Mon people or NMSP will involve in it, how benefit for Mon people from it. Nothing!!! When NMSP delegates attending NC and suggested, but they didn't accept and reject it. So why NMSP( Mon People) imagine that should to participate or not in election? If NMSP will involve in it, do you think NMSP will won in Mon state? No No. It is not impossible for Mon people and all the Burmese people. Thanks.

There are a few different ways to say in involvement. NMSP should involve if there is a middle person who is going to stand for a good referee, such as UNSC or else to treat this election in a fair game. UNSC is not doing its job to promote Burma. That is why this game has never ended. If UNSC cannot bring this into action who else can?
We Mon need to make sure and clear NMSP stands for what kind of government and representation so does other ethnic groups. State government or federal government, what about others ethnic groups? All ethnic groups should pay more attention on national affair rather than ethnic affair. What are the regulations of this election? How is junta going transfer the power to a winning party and who is going to look after if junta is going to do the same thing to 1990 election. This is a time killing game to make every process delay for junta to hold the power in its hand. There will be no different for NMSP whether involve in this election or not. It will be the same as before and after for junta, maybe worst. Everyone knows including junta leaders to lowest rank soldiers democratic election won't take place in Burma and it will never be. This junta leaders will agree to introduce democratic if their family are directly attacked. It is a long way to get to democracy in Burma and all ethnic group will need new generation leaders as much as they can produce or as soon as they can train newcomer. Because current ethnic leaders are already exhausted.
Last thing is both junta leaders and all ethnic leaders need to compromise in harmony to get out of this trouble.
WILL THEY COME TO RELY ON EACH OTHER TO SURVIVE OR WILL THEY FIGHT EACH OTHER TO THE DEATH.

I am Nai Saing Wonna, From Malaysia I hope who wants and needs the peace, should to involve the Junta Election, If the Election is not true all off the Mon peoples are no need to involve that Election. That is my suggestion and if the NMSP involve the Election, I hope, they are jump into the deep hole and to the evil. for me NMSP are no need to participate the Election.
Thanks you,
