| Dear friends, I have just get back home and send
you pictures of NP and his wife.
They
are staying in different hospitals. We have heard a very painful story
told
by himself. We will tell you later. He lost all of his 5 children 2
of
his
soldiers. And then spent 8 days before arriving to the hospital while
he
was severely wounded.

There was a shot news about HRP today in the Thai language news paper
"Matichon" on page 16 with the headline as:
" HRP leader was escorted"
On 25 Sep, District officer of Thapsake, Prachuabkhirikhan Province
Nai
Prasart Prasertying disclose the news after the attack of ABMU (Karen
Muslim) force to the headquarters of HRP on Col. Pan Nyunt in the area
of
Thai Burma border opposite Huphak, Nar Hu Kwang Village Thapsake
District,
Prachuabkhirikhan Province that resulted dead and wounded severely and
have
to bring some wounded persons hospitalized in Thailand. At the moment
the
district officer have planed for the refugees of civilian peoples to
stay
temporarily at Ban Thung Dar Kaow School in Na Hukwan Village.
Dr Sanit Archipsamut the director of Prachuabkhirikhan Hospital said
Col
Pan Nyunt age 50, was severely wounded from the fight and at the moment
he
is recovering and receiving operation as he was shot several important
points. The Thai soldiers from Surasri Task Force provide security
until he
is discharged from the hospital.
(Today I received a phone call from MRC in US asking about the
situation of
HRP. I was in the meeting at that moment. Our friends would like MUL
to
pay
a visit to Nai Pan Nyunt. Now I have discussed with Nai Damrong, MUL
Chairman to go there tomorrow morning. I have asked Kun Yekha to go
along
with us too)

Dear friends,
We deeply worry about Nai Pan Nyunt, HRP leader. According to MUL
Chairman
Nai Damrong who had contact with the police director of Prachub
Khirikhan
he is in the hospital in Prachub and the task force unit is going to
arrest
him. It is not allowed for the visitors to see him. But the police said
the
task force unit could not arrest him because he is a patient in the
hospital. The police also quoted that the fight might be linked with
the
Thai logging business.
