Mon's to celebrate national day worldwide

People in Mon state are going to celebrate their national day today with Union Day of Burma and Mon migrant workers in Thailand joining in.
Mon migrants' workers in Thailand will celebrate with the Thai-Mon people.
Yesterday Mon migrant's workers in Nakhon Pathom town celebrated the national day and Mon migrant's workers in Mahachai, Samut Sakhon celebrated yesterday night. Their celebrations will continue today.
Mahachai migrant workers will organize celebrations in three places. Their biggest celebration will be in Soiroi-man-ga-lae temple. They have hired a famous Mon singer from Burma to entertain participants, according to the celebration committee.
“Initially, I tried to celebrate by myself out of respect for my leader and nation. I asked my boss to allow me two days leave. But my friends wanted the celebrations to be bigger,” explained Nai Ong Mgay, a migrant worker who started national day celebrations in Phan Nga for the first time.
The New Mon State Party is also going to celebrate the national day in each district where they have control and the party's main celebration will be near Hlockhani refugee camp in Three Pagoda Pass Township .

Mon's abroad are also going to celebrate the national day ceremony. They have issued a joint statement.
Mon's inside Burma are going to celebrate in various places at the village and township level. However, the main celebration will be held in the capital Mon state, Moulmein . The military government has banned drama performances during the celebration. |
