Tsunami hit migrant workers donate Buddha images and banyan tree Migrant workers ravaged by the Tsunami in Phang Nga area have joined hands and will donate eight Buddha images made in Burma and a Bordhi banyan tree for surviving the calamity in Thailand. About 80 migrant workers in Phang Nga held a meeting. They are digging the soil to plant a banyan tree and will put the images of the Buddha image around the tree. “We are making the donation for our Burmese migrant workers so that they are safeguarded from natural calamity, danger and physical suffering. The can also celebrate the Bordhi banyan tree festival,” Ko Kart who organized the donation said. “Migrant workers from different areas please join us,” he invited.
According to the migrant workers, all the Buddha images will be bought from Myanmar ( Burma ) and will be made of alabaster. Each image is about one foot high. Following their suffering from Tsunami, migrant workers need Buddha images or a pagoda called “Kyo” means eight regions for praying. Tsunami migrant workers faced tremendous difficulty after the Tsunami and are eager to donate for their partners killed in the Tsunami. |
